Towing an EV with its drive wheels on the ground can damage the motor and drivetrain on many models, which is why EV recovery is usually carried out on a flatbed.
Matched to EV drivers
Selecting EV as your vehicle type means your job is offered only to drivers who have registered with us to recover electric vehicles. That registration is the driver's own declaration of what they are set up for. We verify their documents and their recovery vehicle, but we do not separately certify EV handling equipment.
Transparent EV pricing
EV recovery is currently priced the same as standard car recovery: a base fee plus a per-mile rate for the distance. As with every ECO Auto Recovery booking, the full price is shown before you confirm.
Before your driver arrives
A little preparation helps your EV be recovered the way its manufacturer intends.
- Select EV as your vehicle type so the job is offered to drivers registered for electric vehicles.
- If you can, check your vehicle handbook for the manufacturer's towing and transport guidance. Some EVs have a transport or tow mode described there.
- Keep your key or key card with you, and tell your driver about anything the handbook says.
Booking and paying
- You see the full price before you confirm, calculated from your pickup, destination, vehicle and recovery type.
- Your card is authorised when you book, and only charged once your recovery is verified complete.
- You can cancel free of charge from your account until your driver sets off.
